Smc vs kWh: the conversion

The meter measures volumes in cubic meters, which are converted to Smc through the correction coefficient (C). To compare prices with other energy sources, the gross calorific value (GCV) is used: 1 Smc ≈ 10.69 kWh.

Tips for businesses

Verify that the C coefficient applied is correct for your area. For consumption above 200,000 Smc/year, consider direct access to the wholesale market through a trader or bilateral contract, which can offer more advantageous terms than retail contracts.

For large consumers: Companies consuming over 200,000 Smc/year can access the wholesale market through a trader or bilateral contract, obtaining significantly better terms than retail contracts. Always ask for a comparison between PSV and TTF pricing.
